We left our heart in Lombok
We caught up with stylist, film photographer and all round island angel Jade on her recent island trip to Bali's neighbour Island. These are just a few of her recommendations from this beautiful Island.
“When to stay ”
Perched on a hill in the surfer-town of Gerepuk, Villa Strata is a five bedroom villa boasting aesthetic Scandi architecture and some of the most beautiful panoramic views in Lombok. Take surf lessons in the nearby breaks by day and head to lively Kuta (just a 15 minute ride) come evening, the perfect family or friends destination.
Lombok is home to some of the best surf spots in Indonesia, and whether your an experienced surfer or total newbie, the Gerepuk area (just outside of Kuta) is the perfect place to learn or practice your skills. With plenty of friendly locals offering lesson packages and a lot less crowds than Bali, its a must try.
A true wonder of Lombok, Tiu Kelep waterfall is an absolute must-see. A 20 minute hike down, so be sure to wear proper shoes, but once you arrive at the breathtaking beauty of this special waterfall is oh so worth it.
“Where to eat ”
Mellow by day, loud by night. Knalpot is the new kid on the Kuta Lombok block and boats one of the best menus on the strip. From butterfish to beef tartare, there's something to tickle all the senses. Don't miss the bartender's special espresso martini too.
